Congratulations to Kaycee de Belen who, with over 2,600 votes, has been elected as the first female Young Mayor of Newham. It was a fantastic night in East Ham Town Hall as outgoing Young Mayor Joshua Adejokun, handed over to Kaycee. Kaycee said: "Thank you to all my supporters throughout the campaign that helped me achieve my goal.
"I am so proud and excited to be the new Young Mayor of Newham and be the voice for young people in our borough.
"I am looking forward to reducing youth crime, creating better youth opportunities and focusing on education."
